What this means: XSERIES does not need to compete with Kings League in the global market. Its position is **sportainment for Indonesia and SEA**, with differentiators that are hard to copy: world futsal legends, the card rules, and fixed franchises. This feeds goal [B4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b4).

## XSERIES as the reference point

- A 5v5 "sportainment" format with a 24-second rule, X Cards in quarters 1–2, and President Cards in quarter 4 / the last 5 minutes ([Bola.com](https://www.bola.com/indonesia/read/6258652/xseries-2-sajikan-sportainment-5v5-dengan-aturan-unik-dimeriahkan-bintang-nasional-hingga-dunia)).

- Audience claims from sponsorship materials by the agent Paul Poole (Bangkok): XS-1 3,000+ offline and 5 million+ livestream viewers, XS-2 7,000+ offline and 17 million+ livestream viewers ([Paul Poole](https://www.paulpoole.co.th/edm/aug-sep26/XS327.php)). **Promoter claims, unverified.**
- The site [xseries.gamesofsociety.com](https://xseries.gamesofsociety.com) is still a placeholder: every link points to "#" and there are no team, player, rules, schedule, or ticket pages.

## Global sportainment leagues

### Kings League (Gerard Piqué / Kosmos)

**Format.** A 7v7 league founded on 10 Nov 2022, with matches of 2 x 20 minutes ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kings_League)). Competitions run in Spain, the Américas (Mexico City), Italy, Brazil, France, Germany, and MENA. The MENA league was launched with PIF's sports arm ([The Star](https://www.thestar.com.my/sport/football/2026/01/22/soccer-kings-league-draws-record-audience-numbers-for-global-cup-in-brazil)). Its international tournaments are Kings World Cup Clubs and Nations. KWC Clubs 2026 had 16 teams and 27 matches in Milan ([Inside World Football](https://www.insideworldfootball.com/2026/07/24/kings-league-unveils-blue-chip-sponsor-roster-for-world-cup-clubs-finals-in-milan/)).

**Gimmick rules** ([pages.kingsleague.pro/rules](https://pages.kingsleague.pro/rules)):

- A match starts 1v1 plus goalkeepers. The ball is dropped from the home side, then each team adds one player per minute.
- **Secret Cards**: each team gets one random card and activates it with a green button. The cards are GOAL x2, Suspension, Penalty, Joker, Star Player, Shootout, and Reverse Penalty ([CBS Sports](https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/making-sense-of-kings-world-cup-clubs-wild-rules-from-secret-cards-to-dice-rolls-heres-how-to-watch)).
- **President Penalty**: a blue button that only the team president may take.
- A giant die decides the format of the second half. A tied match ends with a shootout, and a yellow card means two minutes off the pitch.
- **Sponsor-owned cards**: at KWC Clubs 2026, the game Exodus got a "Time Dilation" card ([IWF](https://www.insideworldfootball.com/2026/07/24/kings-league-unveils-blue-chip-sponsor-roster-for-world-cup-clubs-finals-in-milan/)).
- **Fan voting**: the 7th card, Reverse Penalty, was chosen by a poll ([voting page](https://kingsleague.pro/en/world-cup/news/vote-next-secret-card-kings)).

**Creators.** Ibai Llanos, TheGrefg, and Guarnizo are team presidents, and matches also air on their channels ([Xataka](https://www.xataka.com/magnet/kings-league-nacio-2023-para-acabar-futbol-tradicional-tres-anos-despues-ha-declarado-ere)). **Media & monetization.**

- Free on Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, and Kick, plus DAZN and ESPN for the KWC ([IWF](https://www.insideworldfootball.com/2026/07/24/kings-league-unveils-blue-chip-sponsor-roster-for-world-cup-clubs-finals-in-milan/)).
- Sponsors are Coca-Cola, Powerade, Wingstop, Exodus, Visa, adidas, JD Sports, and Fortnite. Activations are tied to match moments: Coca-Cola on goals, Powerade on water breaks, Wingstop on MVP awards ([IWF](https://www.insideworldfootball.com/2026/07/24/kings-league-unveils-blue-chip-sponsor-roster-for-world-cup-clubs-finals-in-milan/)).

> **Business situation in 2026.** In July 2026 Kings League announced an ERE (layoffs). The Spanish league was paused for six months, while France and Germany were stopped with no return date ([Xataka](https://www.xataka.com/magnet/kings-league-nacio-2023-para-acabar-futbol-tradicional-tres-anos-despues-ha-declarado-ere), [SportBusiness](https://www.sportbusiness.com/news/kings-league-cuts-jobs-pauses-spain-edition/)). The lesson: excitement about a gimmick format fades fast if there is no reason to keep following between matches.

**Kings League & Indonesia.**

- There is no Kings League Indonesia or SEA.
- Indonesia played in **Kings World Cup Nations 2026** (Brazil, 3–17 Jan 2026) with **Atta Halilintar** as captain/president ([Wikipedia KWCN](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Kings_World_Cup_Nations)). Indonesia was in the same group as Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and India, and aired on DAZN ([Medcom](https://www.medcom.id/olahraga/liga-dunia/nN9d78RK-jadwal-tim-indonesia-vs-arab-saudi-di-kings-world-cup-nations-2026-tayang-di-mana)). Indonesia beat India 5–3, beat Saudi Arabia on penalties after 3–3, then lost 2–14 to Mexico. Indonesia finished third in the group and missed the last-chance round on goal difference behind Argentina among the best third-placed teams ([Wikipedia KWCN](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Kings_World_Cup_Nations), [Skor.id](https://www.skor.id/posts/738198/tersingkir-dari-kings-world-cup-nations-2026-tim-indonesia-tetap-membanggakan)).
- Atta has also been announced for XS-3 ([Threads](https://www.threads.com/@xseries___/post/DfJdorhiBUM)), and the "creator president + cards" format is already familiar to local audiences.

**Brand.** The identity was made by the agency Summa (Barcelona). The logo is a king, with a system that can change from a bust to a crown made of two K letters ([Summa](https://en.summa.es/work/kings-league/)). ### Queens League

This is the women's competition of Kings League (launched 24 Feb 2023) with the same format and rules ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queens_League)). The 2025–26 season also aired on AWSN in the US ([AWSN](https://www.awsn.tv/post/all-women-s-sports-network-and-queens-league-announce-live-broadcast-partnership-for-the-2025-2026-s)). Its relevance for XSERIES is low because there is no women's division yet. It is an expansion opportunity, not a need for the website right now.

### Baller League (UK / US; Germany paused)

**Format.** 6v6 (including goalkeepers), 12 teams, 2 x 15 minutes. There are 9 matchdays, then a Final Four. There is also the **Pressure Point**, a sudden-death penalty shootout that awards one extra league point ([Rulebook](https://ballerleague.us/c/rulebook)).

**Gamechangers.** At minute 12, a wheel picks one of three rules:

- **Onside**: offside is removed.
- **PlusOne**: start 1v1, one player is added after each goal.
- **3Play**: 3v3 with a 30-second shot clock.

At minute 27 there is a second wheel: **1on1** (15-second shot clock), **Fair Play**, or **The Line** (goals from outside the line count double). The 3Play shot clock is the closest to the XSERIES 24-second rule ([Rulebook](https://ballerleague.us/c/rulebook)).

**Creators.**

- Team managers in the UK include KSI, Angry Ginge, and Chloe Kelly ([Net Influencer](https://www.netinfluencer.com/baller-league-uk-ends-sky-sports-deal-shifts-broadcast-strategy-fully-online/)).
- The US edition features Usain Bolt, Ronaldinho, and Odell Beckham Jr. ([IWF](https://www.insideworldfootball.com/2026/02/06/baller-league-cements-key-us-distribution-deal-cbs-sports-golazo/)).
- The conversion of followers to fans differs widely. KSI is about 1 in 3–4 followers, Odell Beckham Jr. is about 1 in 1,000 ([Digiday](https://digiday.com/marketing/baller-leagues-creator-strategy-reach-is-not-the-same-as-fandom/)).

**Media & monetization.**

- The UK did not renew its Sky Sports contract and is now fully online ([Net Influencer](https://www.netinfluencer.com/baller-league-uk-ends-sky-sports-deal-shifts-broadcast-strategy-fully-online/), Aug 2026).
- The US airs on CBS Sports Golazo (free).
- Germany is paused ([IWF](https://www.insideworldfootball.com/2026/02/02/baller-league-suspends-german-operations-focuses-uk-us/)).
- There are no ads in the stream. They use 8 custom brand partners per market ([Digiday](https://digiday.com/marketing/baller-leagues-creator-strategy-reach-is-not-the-same-as-fandom/)). Clearpay renamed the shootout "The Penalty Point, Unlocked by Clearpay" ([IWF](https://insideworldfootball.com/2026/10/07/baller-league-adds-clearpay-as-sponsor-partner-shifts-venue-from-copperbox-to-eastbrook-film-studios)).
- Tickets are sold through Fever. The season 4 "Baller Pass" costs £156.49 ([Fever](https://feverup.com/m/778886)).
- The league owns all teams and pays players centrally ([Digiday](https://digiday.com/marketing/baller-leagues-creator-strategy-reach-is-not-the-same-as-fandom/)), similar to the 4 XSERIES franchises owned by the organizer.

**Audience.** UK season 3 recorded 344 million short-video views, an average of 1.3 million unique live viewers per matchday, and more than 70% of the audience aged 18–34 ([IWF](https://insideworldfootball.com/2026/10/07/baller-league-adds-clearpay-as-sponsor-partner-shifts-venue-from-copperbox-to-eastbrook-film-studios)). The US opening night in Miami reached a peak of 173K concurrent viewers ([Digiday](https://digiday.com/marketing/baller-leagues-creator-strategy-reach-is-not-the-same-as-fandom/)).

- An indoor **5v5** league, launched in mid-2024 ([Sportcal](https://www.sportcal.com/?p=145456)). It is the only major comparison with the same number of players as XSERIES.
- Season 5 started on 18 Oct 2026 at Messe Berlin. There are 12 teams in two divisions, then an Icon Stage and a Survivor Stage ([weekend.at](https://www.weekend.at/sport/icon-league-season-5-start-aenderungen)).
- No offside, flying substitutions, and a "Rulebreaker" card. What the card does is **(unverified)**.
- Teams are athlete + creator pairs, for example Rüdiger & Luciano or Ribéry & ViscaBarca ([Goal DE](https://www.goal.com/de/listen/was-ist-die-icon-league-und-wer-spielt-mit-teams-stars-modus-gruender/blt766ec1b30dbc86d6)). One of the investors is Jürgen Klopp's family office ([Börsen-Zeitung](https://www.boersen-zeitung.de/english/icon-league-gets-investment-from-klopp-family)).
- **Paid on platforms**: season 5 airs on Disney+ for DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and stays free on SPORT1 TV ([weekend.at](https://www.weekend.at/lifestyle/unterhaltung/icon-league-tv-stream-neu)). Whether this season is still on Twitch is **(unverified)**. Season 3 (2025) was still free on Twitch and Pluto TV ([GIGA](https://www.giga.de/entertainment/the-icon-league-geht-auf-tour-das-erwartet-euch-in-season-3--01J4SCN32160NE2HZQE9BT75G5)).

- There are 12 men's teams, and the Women's PFL has 10 clubs ([RCTI+](https://www.rctiplus.com/news/detail/terkini/5337580/juara-pro-futsal-league-2025-2026-dipastikan-wakili-indonesia-di-intercontinental-futsal-cup)).
- Aired **as a paid service on VISION+** ([RCTI+](https://www.rctiplus.com/news/detail/olahraga/5404697/jadwal-final-pro-futsal-league-2025-26--cosmo-jne-vs-bintang-timur-surabaya-live-streaming-di-vision-)). The main sponsor is PNM ([Skor.id](https://skor.id/post/pro-futsal-league-2025-2026-resmi-disokong-bumn-hak-siar-pertandingan-masih-sama)). The site is [pflindonesia.com](https://pflindonesia.com).
- **Relevance:** PFL is a source of pro players for XSERIES. PFL wins on competition credibility, XSERIES wins on entertainment.

### Atta Halilintar: the futsal & sportainment ecosystem

**Official site:** No dedicated site. The main channels are [IG @attahalilintar](https://www.instagram.com/attahalilintar/) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/@AttaHalilintar).

- Atta owns Pendekar United and once signed Ricardinho ([Goal ID](https://www.goal.com/id/berita/alasan-mulia-pendekar-united-rekrut-ricardinho/bltd704b069ec1fe647)). He has been FFI Vice Chair since Oct 2024 ([Skor.id](https://skor.id/post/pendekar-united-mundur-dari-liga-futsal-indonesia-1)).
- Atta led Indonesia at KWC Nations 2026, with a squad from the "Pendekar League" ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Kings_World_Cup_Nations)).
- **Warrior League**: 7v7 mini soccer for celebrities, legends, and communities ([VOI](https://voi.id/en/amp/533936)). Details **(not fully verified)**.
- He is also involved in **Pesta Bola HGI 2026** with Luís Figo ([Gizmologi](https://gizmologi.id/game/luis-figo-hadir-di-jakarta-jadi-duta-pesta-bola-2026/)). > Atta is the biggest sportainment figure in Indonesia and has been announced for XS-3 ([Threads](https://www.threads.com/@xseries___/post/DfJdorhiBUM)). He is **both an asset and a wildcard**: if he builds his own creator league, XSERIES needs to stress the assets that cannot be copied, which are world futsal legends, the card rules, and fixed franchises. ### Legends matches at GBK

- **Clash of Legends** (18 Apr 2026, SUGBK): Barcelona Legends beat DRX World Legends 3-0 ([Republika](https://news.republika.co.id/berita/tdoyf7348/clash-of-legends-di-gbk-rivaldo-del-piero-hingga-cannavaro-hibur-publik-jakarta?)).
- **The Rivalry Returns** (10 Oct 2026, SUGBK): North London Legends beat Manchester United Legends 3-2 ([Bola.com](https://www.bola.com/inggris/read/8310418/north-london-legends-tundukkan-manchester-united-legends-3-2-di-gbk)). Before the match, the event was promoted as Manchester legends vs North London legends ([RCTI+](https://www.rctiplus.com/news/detail/inews/5450703/rivalry-returns-2026--legenda-manchester-dan-north-london-siap-bentrok-di-sugbk)).
- Both events sell legend nostalgia like Nani at XS-3, but without gimmicks and creators. The XSERIES website needs to explain why XSERIES is "not just an exhibition match".
