## What an opportunity is

An opportunity is a fan or business problem the XSERIES website can solve. For example, the card rules are hard to follow, so the opportunity is a card explainer. It needs evidence in the research and the [SWOT](/strategy/swot/), and must answer at least one [goal](/strategy/tujuan/).

How it differs from a [USP](/strategy/usp/): a USP is the reason fans pick XSERIES, an opportunity is a problem that keeps that reason from reaching fans.

## Impact and effort matrix

Top left is **prioritized**: high impact, low effort. Top right needs to be **planned**. The order of work is set in [Features & priorities](/strategy/fitur-dan-prioritas/).

```viz-scatter
x: Effort
y: Impact
xticks: Low | High
yticks: Low | High
quads: Prioritize | Plan | If time allows | Postpone
- 1 | Info & ticket hub | 0.1 | 0.86 | hi | High impact, low effort. Information is scattered across stories, GOERS, and media
- 2 | Card explainer | 0.28 | 0.92 | hi | High impact, low effort. The rules are only fully explained by Bola.com
- 3 | Waitlist | 0.16 | 0.76 | hi | High impact, low effort. XSERIES has no fan data of its own
- 4 | Match Center / Live Match | 0.7 | 0.84 | ink | High impact, medium-high effort. YouTube viewers do not know which card is active
- 5 | Player cards | 0.3 | 0.66 | hi | Medium-high impact, low-medium effort. The A/Q/J/P rank card format is already in use
- 6 | Edition archive | 0.12 | 0.58 | hi | Medium-high impact, low effort. Content disappears in stories, the only results archive is on Lapangbola
- 7 | Digital sponsors | 0.36 | 0.6 | hi | High impact (revenue), medium effort. Sponsors today are only LED boards, backdrops, jerseys
- 8 | Between-season content | 0.58 | 0.58 | local | Medium-high impact, medium effort. The 12-month gap between editions, the Futsal Series network
- 9 | Fan prediction game | 0.86 | 0.9 | ink | High impact, high effort. The XSERIES format already plays like a game, but viewers only watch
- 10 | Team & rivalry pages | 0.22 | 0.72 | hi | Medium-high impact, low effort. Team identities are uneven, and the appeal depends on stars
caption: Red = prioritize, before XS-3. Black = plan, built in stages across Phase 2–3. Teal = off-season content.
> [!TIP]
> An almost-free step: point the FAQ and TICKET highlights on IG to website pages, so IG traffic starts flowing to a website of its own.
## Opportunity details
Each card states what the opportunity is, which goal in [Goals](/strategy/tujuan/) it answers, and where it comes from in the [SWOT](/strategy/swot/).
```viz-board
## Prioritize
sub: Before XS-3
- 1. Info & ticket hub | One official place for the schedule, tickets (deep link to GOERS), FAQ, and news, replacing story highlights. Success measures: clicks to GOERS and fewer CS questions. Goals [B1](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b1), [U2](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u2). From the SWOT: the weakness "no working official website" and the strategy of a website as the information hub
- 2. Card explainer | A How to Play page with each card as a visual component: name, effect, when it can be used, example moment. Can be sponsored ("Golden Boy presented by …"). Goals [U1](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u1), [B2](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b2). From the SWOT: the strength "unique rules" and the weakness "rules are hard to follow"
- 3. Waitlist | An email/WhatsApp waitlist for the next presale, from Phase 1. This is the first data asset XSERIES owns, and the base for fan accounts in the fan prediction game. Goals [B3](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b3), [T4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-t4). From the SWOT: the weakness "does not own fan data"
- 5. Player cards | Every player gets a digital card with rank, stats, and a story from Phase 1. Card collecting by fans is part of the fan prediction game in Phase 3. Goals [U4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u4), [B3](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b3). From the SWOT: the strengths "access to world stars" and "character content"
- 6. Edition archive | One page per edition: roster, bracket, results, MVP, YouTube highlight links. Goals [U4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u4), [B4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b4). From the SWOT: the weakness "key information only in story highlights" and the strategy of an official archive
- 7. Digital sponsors | Starts with a media kit and "presented by" on the How to Play cards, then MVP of the match, stats, and the Match Center in Phase 2. This inventory is measurable (impressions, clicks), which makes it easier to sell. Goal [B2](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b2). From the SWOT: the opportunities "sponsor inventory" and "sponsor-named cards"
- 10. Team & rivalry pages | One page per franchise: identity, creator owner, roster, rivals, and results across editions. Fans bond with a team, not only with guest stars, so the appeal does not depend on who shows up. Goals [U4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u4), [B4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b4). From the SWOT: the weakness "uneven team identities", the threat "dependence on big names", and the team stories strategy
## Plan
sub: In stages, Phase 2–3
- 4. Match Center / Live Match | A match page during XS-3 (Phase 2) with the score, clock, active card, and event timeline. Card predictions and the MVP vote from the fan prediction game appear here, but the Match Center works without them and opens without a login. It complements the YouTube broadcast and does not replace it. Goals [U3](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u3), [T2](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-t2). From the SWOT: the weakness "rules are hard to follow"
- 9. Fan prediction game | Free predictions when a card is played, season points, and fan levels that unlock real perks such as early presale. Viewers feel they have a stake in the match without gambling, because points cannot be bought or cashed out. During a match, predictions appear in the Match Center and use its card data as the trigger. It starts with waitlist XP in Phase 1, predictions in Phase 2, then fan accounts, player card collecting, and fan levels in Phase 3. Goals [U3](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u3), [B3](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b3), [U4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u4), [T4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-t4). From the SWOT: the opportunity "cards as an interactive product"
## Off-season
sub: Ongoing
- 8. Between-season content | A "from Futsal Series to XSERIES" story, player content outside events, and staged announcements. Keeps attention through the gap between editions (12 months from XS-2 to XS-3). Goals [U4](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-u4), [B3](/strategy/tujuan/#goal-b3). From the SWOT: the opportunities "off-season content" and "school talent path as a story", and the weakness "long gap between editions"
```
Three SWOT opportunities are left out on purpose: regional expansion and a YouTube membership bundle depend on GOS business decisions ([S7](/research/pertanyaan-terbuka/#q-s7), [D5](/research/pertanyaan-terbuka/#q-d5)), and the number-one position in SEA is a [positioning](/strategy/positioning-dan-framing/) matter, not a feature.
Visual examples of each opportunity from other products are in [Product references](/strategy/referensi-produk/).
## Where opportunities come from
Every opportunity comes from an XSERIES gap or strength in the [SWOT](/strategy/swot/). The right-hand columns show competitors that have already proven a similar version ([Digital product benchmark](/research/benchmark-produk-digital/#relevant-feature-patterns)).
```viz-matrix
cols: XSERIES gap | XSERIES strength | Baller League | Kings League | PFL
corner: Opportunity
legend2: Direct
legend1: Partial
- 1 · Info & ticket hub | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2
- 2 · Card explainer | 2 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 0
- 3 · Waitlist | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0
- 4 · Match Center | 2 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0
- 5 · Player card | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0
- 6 · Edition archive | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0
- 7 · Digital sponsorship | 2 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0
- 8 · Between-season content | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0
- 9 · Fan prediction game | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0
- 10 · Team & rivalry pages | 2 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 0
```
- **Opportunity 8 has no competitor example.** It is the most distinctly XSERIES, but also the least proven.
- **Opportunities 2, 4, and 9 exist at competitors in static or paid form.** The Baller and Kings rules pages have no interaction, the Baller Match Centre has no card timeline, and Kings Fantasy is rated 18+. XSERIES makes them interactive and free.
## The bet behind each opportunity
Every opportunity is a bet that can be wrong. The third column is the cheapest way to find out before building. Numeric targets wait for client data ([KPIs](/strategy/kpi/)), and the riskiest assumptions are in the [Assumption map](/strategy/risiko-dan-asumsi/#assumption-map).
```viz-thread
cols: We believe | Proven if | Cheapest test first | If it turns out wrong
tones: strategy | strategy | research | product
## 1 · Info & ticket hub
- Fans reach tickets and schedules faster through one official page
- Clicks to GOERS from the website exceed clicks from the IG bio
- Point the TICKET highlight to one simple ticket page, measure with UTM
- Still built as a basic feature, IG stays the main door
## 2 · Card explainer
- New viewers understand the cards when every card has a real example moment
- 4 out of 5 test participants can explain a card's effect
- Test 5 people with a How to Play prototype in Figma
- Switch to a short video per card
## 3 · Waitlist
- Fans will give an email or WhatsApp number for earlier presale
- Sign-ups rise with every player announcement
- One form in the IG bio at the next player reveal
- Change the incentive: exclusive content or a merch draw
## 4 · Match Center
- YouTube viewers open a second screen to see the active card
- Visitors during the match stay through the card quarters
- A pinned YouTube comment with "active card now" during XS-3
- Active cards live only in the broadcast overlay
## 5 · Player card
- Fans share legend player cards at reveal
- Player card shares from the website at reveal
- The next reveal points to one player card on the website
- Player cards stay profiles, Phase 3 collecting is postponed
## 6 · Edition archive
- Media and new fans look up past results and rosters
- Organic traffic to the archive, media citing the official site
- One XS-2 results page from Lapangbola data
- One short page per edition is enough
## 7 · Digital sponsorship
- Sponsors will pay for measurable digital slots
- At least one sponsor takes a "presented by" slot at XS-3
- Add a card slot to the XS-3 media kit before building
- Digital slots become a bonus in physical packages
## 8 · Between-season content
- School-to-arena stories bring fans back between editions
- 30/90-day retention during the gap
- Three Futsal Series pathway stories on IG, compare their engagement
- Fall back to an announcement rhythm only
## 9 · Fan prediction game
- Viewers will predict card moments if it is free and the rewards are real
- Predictions per user during a match, fans returning the next match
- An IG story poll every time a card is played at XS-3
- Stop at simple predictions, without levels and collecting
## 10 · Team & rivalry pages
- Fans pick a favorite team when teams have character and rivals
- Favorite team filled in on the waitlist and MVP vote
- Add "pick your team" to the waitlist form
- Team pages are just rosters
```
## Candidates from the competitor audit
Things competitors do that are not on this map yet. They are not numbered, and only join if they pass the [USP test](/strategy/usp/#the-usp-test-for-every-new-proposal).
```viz-board
## Passes the USP test
tone: should
sub: New opportunity candidates
- Fans pick a new card | Kings League let fans pick the 7th Secret Card through a poll. For XSERIES: fans pick one card for the next edition. [Chaos](/strategy/usp/#four-usps)
- Watch along with creators | Kings League matches also air on the team presidents' channels. The Match Center can link the team-owner creators' streams. [Characters](/strategy/usp/#four-usps)
## Hold for now
tone: could
sub: Useful, no USP
- Season Stats Centre | Baller League. Comes in through the Edition archive if the data is available
- Season pass | Baller Pass via Fever. A ticketing and business decision, not a digital product
## Not used
tone: wont
sub: Conflicts with principles
- Fantasy with paid packs | Kings League Fantasy is rated 18+ for simulated gambling. XSERIES points cannot be bought
- Separate mobile game | Clash of Captains. Too heavy, a native app is in Won't
```
## Game layer
Opportunities 2 (card explainer), 4 (Match Center), 5 (player cards), and 9 (fan prediction game) are not four separate features. Together they form a **game layer**: the layer that makes the XSERIES product feel like a game, true to the XBall format, which is built from cards, ranks, and effects. This is what sets XSERIES apart from a regular league site.
- **Before the event:** flippable cards in How to Play, player cards with ranks, starting XP from the waitlist
- **During the event:** active cards in the Match Center, card-moment predictions, MVP vote
- **After the event:** player card collection, fan levels, leaderboard, and season prizes
Opportunity 9, fan prediction game, is the mechanic that ties the other three together through points, levels, and prizes. Its summary is in [Features & priorities](/strategy/fitur-dan-prioritas/#fan-prediction-game). Features that belong to the game layer carry a **Game** label in [Features & priorities](/strategy/fitur-dan-prioritas/). The game layer starts light, because whether fans like the cards or see them as a gimmick has not been tested ([S6](/research/pertanyaan-terbuka/#q-s6)).
### Cards across four match moments
Cards are the core of the game layer. Today cards are only explained in media coverage, one YouTube video, and Instagram stories that disappear after 24 hours ([Format & rules](/research/format-dan-aturan/)). New viewers, especially on YouTube, cannot tell which card is active. The digital product fills this gap at four moments:
```viz-flow
## Before the match
kicker: Phase 1
tone: product
- How to Play page | Each card shows as a game card: name, effect, and the quarter it is used in. Flip it to see an example
## During the match
kicker: Phase 2
tone: product
- Match Center | The card that is active now, its time left (for example 2 minutes of Freeze Goal), and each team's card history
## Taking part
kicker: Phase 2
tone: product
- Card call | Each time a card is played, fans get 30–60 seconds to predict what it will do. See [fan prediction game](/strategy/fitur-dan-prioritas/#fan-prediction-game)
## After the match
kicker: Phase 1–2
tone: product
- Match Center and archive | A timeline of goals and cards, so late viewers understand why the score jumped
band: Each card can also carry a sponsor, for example "Triple Goal presented by [Brand]". Priorities are in [Features & priorities](/strategy/fitur-dan-prioritas/).
```
## Research basis
- There is no working official website, the rules are not officially documented, there is no archive, and XSERIES does not own its fan data: [Digital touchpoints](/research/touchpoint-digital/#gaps-found)
- The most complete card explanation is on Bola.com, including Golden Boy, which makes one player's goals worth 3: [Format & rules](/research/format-dan-aturan/#x-cards-quarters-1-and-2), from [Bola.com](https://www.bola.com/indonesia/read/6258652/xseries-2-sajikan-sportainment-5v5-dengan-aturan-unik-dimeriahkan-bintang-nasional-hingga-dunia)
- Viewers cannot tell which card is active. This is the documentation team's conclusion and has not been tested: [Format & rules](/research/format-dan-aturan/#scoring-implications)
- XS-3 players are announced one by one with a rank card of A, Q, J, or P: [Players](/research/pemain/#xseries-3-player-announcements), from [Instagram @xseries___](https://www.instagram.com/xseries___/). The meaning of the ranks is not confirmed yet ([V1](/research/pertanyaan-terbuka/#q-v1))
- The only structured results archive is on Lapangbola, a third-party site: [Digital touchpoints](/research/touchpoint-digital/#touchpoint-map), from [Lapangbola](https://live.lapangbola.com/tournaments/fixtures/klasemen-x-series-2025)
- Sponsor assets today are physical, and digital assets do not appear to be monetized yet: [Sponsors & partners](/research/sponsor-dan-partner/#visible-sponsor-inventory)
- The gap from XS-2 to XS-3 was 12 months and the schedule is not fixed, so content is needed between seasons: [Edition timeline](/research/timeline-edisi/#signals-of-scale)
- The XSERIES audience rests on the Futsal Series network: 1,000+ high school communities and 200+ universities, with wondr Futsal Series 2026 running in 40 cities: [Games of Society](/research/games-of-society/#profile) and [IP portfolio](/research/games-of-society/#ip-portfolio), from [gamesofsociety.com](http://gamesofsociety.com/)
- XS-3 is on 23–24 Jan 2027 at Indonesia Arena: [XSERIES-3 tickets](/research/tiket-xseries-3/#schedule), from [GOERS](https://www.goersapp.com/events/xseries-3--xseries3)
- Ticket info and the FAQ are currently kept as IG highlights: [Instagram content audit](/research/audit-konten-instagram/#faq-and-ticket), from [Instagram @xseries___](https://www.instagram.com/xseries___/)
- No competitor in Indonesia uses a card mechanic, and Kings League gives each team only one random Secret Card: [Competitor landscape](/research/competitor-landscape/#summary)
- The impact and effort scores for each opportunity are the design team's proposal and have not been validated by the client: [Open questions](/research/pertanyaan-terbuka/)
- Competitor feature patterns (team pages, Match Centre, fantasy, card voting, sponsor cards, sign-up): [Digital product benchmark](/research/benchmark-produk-digital/#relevant-feature-patterns) and [Competitor landscape](/research/competitor-landscape/)
- Opportunity origins, bets, cheapest tests, and competitor candidates are the design team's proposal and have not been validated by the client
