Features & priorities

The list of XSERIES digital product features with MoSCoW priorities per phase, the reasons, and the research basis.

How to read: each card holds a feature and its reason. Blue labels such as Measurable tickets or Take part during matches are the goals the feature answers. The number in each column header is the feature count. The Game label marks features that build the game layer, the part that makes the product feel like a game.

Note

What is a phase? The digital product is not built all at once. It is built in steps that follow the XS-3 schedule (23–24 Jan 2027).

  • Phase 1 · Before the event: the XS-3 hub website with schedule, tickets, rules, teams, and the waitlist. Live in early January 2027.
  • Phase 2 · During the event: features used while matches are on, such as live score and the cards currently in play.
  • Phase 3 · After the event: features that bring fans back until the next edition, such as the archive, fan accounts, and card collection. From February 2027.

"Phase 1–2" means a feature is used in both phases. The full schedule is in Roadmap.

Phase 1 · Before the event: XS-3 hub website (live early January 2027)

The eight Must features are the minimum for the link from IG to have a clear destination. The Won't column applies to all phases.

Deliberately out of scope, Phase 1–3

  • Selling tickets directlyStays with GOERS
  • Own streamingStays with YouTube
  • A full fantasy leagueToo complex for 4 matches per edition; card predictions fit better
  • Money bets or paid pointsOnline gambling is illegal, and many fans are still at school. Use free points (Predict & Back)
  • A native appThe event is only 2 days per edition; the web, opened from an IG link, makes more sense. Reconsider only if Phase 2–3 data shows repeat use
  • Merchandise e-commerceCan follow later through a partner

The full reasons for the Won't column are in Product vision.

Phase 2 · During the event: live match companion (23–24 Jan 2027)

The focus is one problem: viewers don't know which card is active.

The predictions and season points above are part of Predict & Back, summarized below.

Phase 3 · After the event: archive and fan accounts (Feb 2027 onward)

Every feature in this phase depends on fan accounts.

Predict & Back

The main game feature from the Opportunity map: viewers feel they have a stake in the match, without gambling. It runs across all three phases, so it is summarized once here. The numbers for points, levels, and prizes are worked out later, during module design.

✕Betting

Three elements of gambling appear together

  • 1. A stake of valueThe player puts in money or something of value
  • 2. An uncertain resultThe score and moments of the match
  • 3. A cash-value prizeWin money, lose money
✓Predict & Back

Only the element that makes it exciting stays

  • 1. RemovedFree. Points come from taking part and cannot be bought
  • 2. KeptThis is where the excitement comes from
  • 3. ReplacedStatus, access, collectibles, and experiences. Never cashed out
  • The prediction moment. When a card is played, one two-choice question opens for 30–60 seconds, for example "Will Golden Boy score before the card runs out?". The question is always about the card, so fans learn the rules at the same time. No other league has this moment.
  • Season points. Given free at the start of an edition, they go up on a correct prediction and down on a wrong one, never below zero, and reset every edition. The top of the ranking wins season prizes.
  • Fan level. XP comes from attending the venue, watching, predicting, and inviting friends. The level never drops and unlocks real perks, above all early presale.
  • Sponsor. One "Card Call presented by" slot per edition, from a non-betting brand.
Phase 1
Before the event
  • The waitlist gives starting XP and a first player cardXP is stored, levels open later
Phase 2
During the event
  • Card-moment predictions, season points, edition standings, MVP vote
Phase 3
After the event
  • Full fan levels, friends leagues, season prizes, presale for Core fans

Non-negotiable limits: points cannot be bought, transferred, or cashed out. Winners are decided by rank, not by a draw. No loot boxes, paid card packs, or gambling words such as "odds" and "jackpot". Fan data is collected with consent under the PDP Law, and venue experience prizes for participants under 18 need parental consent.

Warning

This is a design concept, not legal advice. Before building, three things need checking: the form of prizes and their tax with GOS legal and finance, who taps the "card played" button during live play (Live data operator), and whether GOERS can open a presale for a specific list of fans (Tracking on GOERS).

These features come from the Opportunity map and from the priority in Product references. Where they sit on the website is in Information architecture, how they are measured is in KPIs & measurement, and the timing is in Roadmap.
