Opportunity map

Ten opportunities for the XSERIES digital product, rated by impact and effort, with the research basis for each.

What an opportunity is

An opportunity is a fan or business problem the XSERIES website can solve. For example, the card rules are hard to follow, so the opportunity is a card explainer.

Something becomes an opportunity when there is evidence for it in the research and the SWOT, the digital product can answer it, and it answers at least one goal. Its concrete form is in Features & priorities.

Impact and effort matrix

Top left is what to prioritize: high impact, low effort. Top right needs to be planned, because it needs live data, user accounts, or regular content production. This matrix measures impact and effort, not order of work. The order is set by Must, Should, and Could in Features & priorities.

  10. 10Team & rivalry pagesMedium-high impact, low effort. Team identities are uneven, and the appeal depends on stars

Red = prioritize, before XS-3. Black = plan, built in stages across Phase 2–3. Teal = off-season content.

Prioritize (before XS-3)

Opportunities 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 10 can start before 23 Jan 2027. The content already exists and only needs to be organized, or it takes just one form (the waitlist) and one sponsor slot on the How to Play cards.

Tip

One almost-free step: every FAQ and TICKET highlight on IG can point to a website page, so IG traffic starts flowing to a website of its own.

Plan (in stages, Phase 1–3)

Opportunities 4, 8, and 9 are built in stages. The Match Center comes in Phase 2 (during XS-3). The fan prediction game starts with waitlist XP in Phase 1, card predictions in Phase 2, then fan accounts, player card collecting, and fan levels in Phase 3. Between-season content needs regular production through the gap between editions. The details are in Features & priorities. The result: XSERIES owns its audience and has a product it can sell to sponsors.

Opportunity details

Each card states what the opportunity is, which goal in Goals it answers, and where it comes from in the SWOT.

Before XS-3

  • 1. Info & ticket hubOne official place for the schedule, tickets (deep link to GOERS), FAQ, and news, replacing story highlights. Success measures: clicks to GOERS and fewer CS questions. Goals Measurable tickets Buy tickets. From the SWOT: the weakness "no working official website" and the strategy of a website as the information hub
  • 2. Card explainerA How to Play page with each card as a visual component: name, effect, when it can be used, example moment. Can be sponsored ("Golden Boy presented by …"). Goals Understand the rules Digital sponsors. From the SWOT: the strength "unique rules" and the weakness "rules are hard to follow"
  • 3. WaitlistAn email/WhatsApp waitlist for the next presale, from Phase 1. This is the first data asset XSERIES owns, and the base for fan accounts in the fan prediction game. Goals Own audience Owned data. From the SWOT: the weakness "does not own fan data"
  • 5. Player cardsEvery player gets a digital card with rank, stats, and a story from Phase 1. Card collecting by fans is part of the fan prediction game in Phase 3. Goals Connected outside the season Own audience. From the SWOT: the strengths "access to world stars" and "character content"
  • 6. Edition archiveOne page per edition: roster, bracket, results, MVP, YouTube highlight links. Goals Connected outside the season Position in SEA. From the SWOT: the weakness "key information only in story highlights" and the strategy of an official archive
  • 7. Digital sponsorsStarts with a media kit and "presented by" on the How to Play cards, then MVP of the match, stats, and the Match Center in Phase 2. This inventory is measurable (impressions, clicks), which makes it easier to sell. Goal Digital sponsors. From the SWOT: the opportunities "sponsor inventory" and "sponsor-named cards"
  • 10. Team & rivalry pagesOne page per franchise: identity, creator owner, roster, rivals, and results across editions. Fans bond with a team, not only with guest stars, so the appeal does not depend on who shows up. Goals Connected outside the season Position in SEA. From the SWOT: the weakness "uneven team identities", the threat "dependence on big names", and the team stories strategy
Plan2

In stages, Phase 2–3

  • 4. Match Center / Live MatchA match page during XS-3 (Phase 2) with the score, clock, active card, and event timeline. Card predictions and the MVP vote from the fan prediction game appear here, but the Match Center works without them and opens without a login. It complements the YouTube broadcast and does not replace it. Goals Take part during matches Withstands spikes. From the SWOT: the weakness "rules are hard to follow"
  • 9. Fan prediction gameFree predictions when a card is played, season points, and fan levels that unlock real perks such as early presale. Viewers feel they have a stake in the match without gambling, because points cannot be bought or cashed out. During a match, predictions appear in the Match Center and use its card data as the trigger. It starts with waitlist XP in Phase 1, predictions in Phase 2, then fan accounts, player card collecting, and fan levels in Phase 3. Goals Take part during matches Own audience Connected outside the season Owned data. From the SWOT: the opportunity "cards as an interactive product"
Off-season1

Ongoing

  • 8. Between-season contentA "from Futsal Series to XSERIES" story, player content outside events, and staged announcements. Keeps attention through the gap between editions (12 months from XS-2 to XS-3). Goals Connected outside the season Own audience. From the SWOT: the opportunities "off-season content" and "school talent path as a story", and the weakness "long gap between editions"

These opportunities come from the SWOT and feed into Features & priorities. Three SWOT opportunities are not on this map. Regional expansion and a YouTube membership bundle depend on GOS business decisions rather than the digital product, and are tracked in Southeast Asia expansion and YouTube membership benefits. The number-one 5v5 sportainment position in SEA is a positioning matter, not a feature, and is covered in Positioning & framing. On the product side, a bilingual site is a Phase 1 Could and YouTube membership integration is a Phase 3 Could in Features & priorities.

Visual examples of each opportunity from other products are in Product references.

Game layer

Opportunities 2 (card explainer), 4 (Match Center), 5 (player cards), and 9 (fan prediction game) are not four separate features. Together they form a game layer: the layer that makes the XSERIES product feel like a game, true to the XBall format, which is built from cards, ranks, and effects. This is what sets XSERIES apart from a regular league site.

  • Before the event: flippable cards in How to Play, player cards with ranks, starting XP from the waitlist
  • During the event: active cards in the Match Center, card-moment predictions, MVP vote
  • After the event: player card collection, fan levels, leaderboard, and season prizes

Opportunity 9, fan prediction game, is the mechanic that ties the other three together through points, levels, and prizes. Its summary is in Features & priorities. Features that belong to the game layer carry a Game label in Features & priorities. The game layer starts light, because whether fans like the cards or see them as a gimmick has not been tested (Cards: loved or gimmick).

Cards across four match moments

Cards are the core of the game layer. Today cards are only explained in media coverage, one YouTube video, and Instagram stories that disappear after 24 hours (Format & rules). New viewers, especially on YouTube, cannot tell which card is active. The digital product fills this gap at four moments:

Phase 1
Before the match
  • How to Play pageEach card shows as a game card: name, effect, and the quarter it is used in. Flip it to see an example
Phase 2
During the match
  • Match CenterThe card that is active now, its time left (for example 2 minutes of Freeze Goal), and each team's card history
Phase 2
Taking part
  • Card callEach time a card is played, fans get 30–60 seconds to predict what it will do. See fan prediction game
Phase 1–2
After the match
  • Match Center and archiveA timeline of goals and cards, so late viewers understand why the score jumped
Each card can also carry a sponsor, for example "Triple Goal presented by [Brand]". Priorities are in Features & priorities.

Research basis

  • There is no working official website, the rules are not officially documented, there is no archive, and XSERIES does not own its fan data: Digital touchpoints
  • The most complete card explanation is on Bola.com, including Golden Boy, which makes one player's goals worth 3: Format & rules, from Bola.com
  • Viewers cannot tell which card is active. This is the documentation team's conclusion and has not been tested: Format & rules
  • XS-3 players are announced one by one with a rank card of A, Q, J, or P: Players, from Instagram @xseries___. The meaning of the ranks is not confirmed yet (A/Q/J/P rank meaning)
  • The only structured results archive is on Lapangbola, a third-party site: Digital touchpoints, from Lapangbola
  • Sponsor assets today are physical, and digital assets do not appear to be monetized yet: Sponsors & partners
  • The gap from XS-2 to XS-3 was 12 months and the schedule is not fixed, so content is needed between seasons: Edition timeline
  • The XSERIES audience rests on the Futsal Series network: 1,000+ high school communities and 200+ universities, with wondr Futsal Series 2026 running in 40 cities: Games of Society and IP portfolio, from gamesofsociety.com
  • XS-3 is on 23–24 Jan 2027 at Indonesia Arena: XSERIES-3 tickets, from GOERS
  • Ticket info and the FAQ are currently kept as IG highlights: Instagram content audit, from Instagram @xseries___
  • No competitor in Indonesia uses a card mechanic, and Kings League gives each team only one random Secret Card: Competitor landscape
  • The impact and effort scores for each opportunity are the design team's proposal and have not been validated by the client: Open questions
